The Royale Dosa Named ARTA 2026 Finalist for West Midlands Restaurant of the Year

The Royale Dosa was created to bring the flavours of both South and North India together under one roof on Kings Road in Sutton Coldfield.

Our menu reflects that approach, from dosas, idli and other South Indian favourites to biryanis, tandoor dishes and North Indian curries. We want our guests to be able to explore different traditions and flavours of Indian cooking whenever they visit us.

Dosa naturally remains an important part of our identity. From a classic plain dosa to masala dosa and the other varieties on our menu, considerable care goes into the food we prepare. At the same time, Royale Dosa has always been about more than one dish: it is about creating a welcoming restaurant where families, friends, couples and anyone with an appreciation for Indian food can enjoy the experience.

Recognition beyond the awards

The achievement has also attracted regional media attention, with Birmingham Mail and the Express & Star both featuring The Royale Dosa in their coverage of ARTA 2026.

For us, that wider recognition is also an opportunity to put Sutton Coldfield’s independent restaurant scene in the spotlight and to share what we have been building here on Kings Road with a wider audience.
